(This is my first time doing a snowflake challenge - figured I'd just jump in!)

Challenge #13: In your own space, tell us about 3 fandom resources you use or enjoy. (One or two is fine, especially if you're in a smaller fandom!) Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

1. Cold Boys Research Central by areyougonnabe is such a wonderful example of collaborative fandom research. The Terror fandom is full of academic folks whose research focuses on the Franklin expedition or non-academic folks who just want to learn more about the historical figures the show/book is based around. This page compiles a bunch of those resources into one place. It just makes me happy as someone who's gone down the research rabbit hole multiple times for my fics and as a grad student specializing in digital history.

2. Podfichat is a huge Discord server of podficcers. I'm still pretty new to podficcing and the folks in this server have helped me out so much. Its also just a very chill and supportive community.

3. I struggled coming up with a third resource, but my friends are honestly the best ones I have. I only have a handful of fandom friends, but I've made such long-lasting connections with them and have even had the privilege of meeting a few in person. They're so supportive of my interests, have cheered me on through so many projects, and given me criticism/reality checks when I need them. They're just the best. <3

So glad you found a good Discord... I know there are good and bad, sounds like you found a good one!

And fandom friends *are* the best... I don't know what I would have done without them this past year. Meeting up in person is so much fun, when we can... we are so looking forward to the next time we can get together!

Hello! I definitely second friends being an awesome resource! There’s nothing quite like dropping into a friend’s dms for a critical last minute pinch hit one unwisely accepted and saying: “okay, please tell me all about X character about whom I know little and yet must write in the next two hours.” Ah, good times. Or a friend giving one a good scolding about signing up for events or deadlines. Friends are wonderful, and getting to meet some in person is precious.

I’m also glad to hear you’ve found podfichat helpful; I also have been really enjoying the server, as well as some other events like Voiceteam mystery box. So much great advice and help! I hope you continue to have fun with podficcing.
