Hey there! I'm a 22-year-old fanperson who's been in fandom for about a decade now. My pronouns are he/him/his.

I’m very new to DW. This journal is mainly for tracking fan events and kink memes, though I might post about my own fanworks or various other interests. All posts are public. Feel free to comment or message me! I’d love to chat with folks on here.

My fics and podfics are all on my AO3, [archiveofourown.org profile] disastermovie.

Here's a list of my fandoms and ships. Right now, I'm very into Good Omens and The Terror.

You can see what fics and podfics I'm working on here.

disastermovie: Pollution from Good Omens with the text: and there shall come pollution and pestillence upon the land. (pollution)
I managed to get the house to myself for an hour last weekend and started recording chapter two of Ground Control. I'm more than halfway through the chapter, which is nice. Hopefully I can record the second half this weekend and start editing. I changed my mic's position, which I think (mostly) fixed the issue of mouth sounds ending up in my recording, but we'll see when I really sit down to edit.

Grad school is still kicking my butt - I was complaining to a friend today about it when they reminded me its only the second week of the semester (0_o). I'm trying to be nice to myself, while also forcing myself to get on top of my coursework, which has mostly meant several days of going to bed at ungodly hours because I procrastinated before. Fingers crossed I successfully get ahead this week and can have a stress-free day for podficcing.

In other news, I discovered this free snake cross-stitch pattern thanks to /r/CrossStitch that I may or may not mess around with to make a certain demonic serpent. "Snake" is a prompt on my Good Omens Bingo card, too, so that might be my fill for it. On that note, here's to hoping I can actually sit down and finish the one WIP fic I have for my card this weekend...
I've never really been a passive sort of person in fandom. Like, there are plenty of folks who just consume canon and fanworks and don't produce stuff themselves. Which is good! I've never been that sort of person, though.

Snowflake Challenge promotional banner featuring a wrapped giftbox with a snowflake on the gift tag. Text: Snowflake Challenge January 1-31

(This is my first time doing a snowflake challenge - figured I'd just jump in!)

Challenge #13: In your own space, tell us about 3 fandom resources you use or enjoy. (One or two is fine, especially if you're in a smaller fandom!) Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

1. Cold Boys Research Central by [tumblr.com profile] areyougonnabe is such a wonderful example of collaborative fandom research. The Terror fandom is full of academic folks whose research focuses on the Franklin expedition or non-academic folks who just want to learn more about the historical figures the show/book is based around. This page compiles a bunch of those resources into one place. It just makes me happy as someone who's gone down the research rabbit hole multiple times for my fics and as a grad student specializing in digital history.

2. Podfichat is a huge Discord server of podficcers. I'm still pretty new to podficcing and the folks in this server have helped me out so much. Its also just a very chill and supportive community.

3. I struggled coming up with a third resource, but my friends are honestly the best ones I have. I only have a handful of fandom friends, but I've made such long-lasting connections with them and have even had the privilege of meeting a few in person. They're so supportive of my interests, have cheered me on through so many projects, and given me criticism/reality checks when I need them. They're just the best. <3
I'm going back to grad school tomorrow (and by "going back" I mean "I start Zoom classes from my own bedroom"). I finally finished the last of my readings for the first week today. I am excited for my classes and a lot of books look like they'll be really interesting, but all of this academic text is already exhausting me. I think I just gotta manage my time better tbh.

Hopefully I'll get my energy back later in the week so I can record the second chapter of Ground Control. I'd love to have the podfic posted by the end of February, but we'll see what life does to me before then, lol.
I have so many fandoms and ships that I can't actually put them all in one list, but these are the ones that I'm mostly into at any given moment. Arranged in alphabetical order. I'll update this as my interests change/grow.
